Q. What is Huawei’s ICT Infrastructure Certification?

ICT Infrastructure Certification focuses on both the hardware and software components of ICT infrastructure and provides certifications in 12 technical fields, namely: Data Center, Storage, Intelligent Computing, Datacom, WLAN, Security, SDN, Transmission, Access, LTE, Enterprise Communication and 5G. Those successful in attaining ICT Infrastructure Certifications will be able to demonstrate knowledge of ICT infrastructure planning, construction, and maintenance.

Cloud Service & Platform certifications focus on new emerging ICT such as AI, IoT, and Cloud and provide certifications in nine technical fields: Big Data, AI, IoT, Intelligent Vision, GaussDB, Cloud Computing, Cloud Service, HarmonyOS and Kunpeng Application Developer. Achieving the Cloud Service and Platform Certifications, signify that the certificate holder is capable of integrating business, technologies, and applications. Furthermore, professionals will be able to build and operate cloud platforms and architectures in addition to developing new technical applications based on cloud platforms.

Huawei offers three levels of certification: Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA), Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP), and Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE). Datacom is short for Data Communication. Datacom certification belongs to the ICT infrastructure certification category. As an upgraded version of Routing & Switching certification, Datacom certification was officially released on April 18, 2020. It will eventually replace Routing & Switching certification as the standard for Huawei to build datacom talent capabilities.

The validity period of a certificate starts from the date when the certificate is issued. The validity period of HCIA and HCIP level certification is three years. The validity period of the HCIE certification is two years.
